Wide Open Coin Purse

Such a fun little pouch that opens flat when you unzip it so you can see everything inside!

I saw this pouch tutorial by Sewing Times pop up on Pinterest and liked it so much I dropped everything else I was working on to make three!! (You can find the pin on Pinterest here, or the blog tutorial here.)

Ruby Star Society Curvelets version with a little Kylie and the Machine label at the side

I threw together some curvelets for one, and it’s definitely my favourite. I’m going to keep this one as a prototype, but I may make some more for my Etsy shop since they’re just such a fun size and seem like they’ll be super useful to chuck in a sewing back or purse!

The other two I used a layercake square each of Ruby Star fabric and quilted it onto some By Annie Soft and Stable. They’re definitely more structured, but the seams are a little bulkier. I don’t hate the bulky seams, and the structure and 1/2″ quilting makes these super cute! I did add a little hanging tab from some of the leftover lining which isn’t in the pattern. Would be handy for a little trigger clip if you’re wanting to use it as a purse organiser and clip it to the inside somewhere.

These will be up in my Etsy shop soon if you don’t want to make your own, and I may put up a pre-order for a curvelets pouch! That way you could pick your colour theme and receive your own little pouch made from hand stitched curvelets.
